If you’ve made it to the About page, then you must be at least a little bit curious about who we are and why we’ve made this site. Thank you for your interest!
My name is Christopher and for as long as I can remember, I’ve always enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. Over the years, whether because of work or vacation or what-have-you, I’ve stayed in countless hotels and motels across North America and in many other parts of the globe. The places I have stayed span the range of what’s out there – from the posh and elegant to the run-down and bug-infested – and I know how tough it can be to find a good spot sometimes. And, as I’m usually traveling with my family in tow, I know I need to be careful of the places we pick. We have stayed in hotels that we didn’t want to leave and we’ve been to places where we couldn’t even stay the night. The purpose of this site is to hopefully help you avoid the pits so you can enjoy the nice ones.
Our goal is to evaluate the hotels in a popular area, present you with the ones that we consider the best selections, and let you narrow it down from there. Hopefully, we will at least have saved you some time and aggravation.
Who’s to say what is best and what is not? That’s a good question, and we realize that not everyone will be measuring by the same stick. Our intent is to base our picks on a combination of the nightly room rate, previous guest reviews, hotel amenities, distance to the particular landmark or feature in the area, and a few more things. That’s a lot of variables, I know, and still I realize we may not hit the mark for everyone. We will present our favorite picks with a quick explanation why, and then go on to also offer a few other alternatives for those who may be looking for something a little different.
